Obama in Praha

So earlier Barack Obama made a public speech at a square in Prague Castle, right next to my dorm. It was the end of his trip to the EU, and ended it in Prague in the Czech Republic who has the EU presidency this year. Of course the timing of the trip could not be worse considering the political climate here, with the collapse of the government, the economic recession, and the Communist party gaining in the Parliament. Anyway, I was supposed to go to the castle early with some friends, but I overslept and the US Embassy reccommended getting to the Castle gates around 7AM (the speech was at 10), but to show up even earlier. I overslept to 830AM, ran my ass to the Castle and I asked for directions, but some girl gave me a ticket. Now I'm not stupid, because I know that a 'free' 'ticket' means theres some gimmick involved, but no joke, I just cut a huge line, walked into the front of the square right near the podium (mind you, I was already almost 2 hours late, and people had been waiting there since 4AM and still had to stand in the back...).
Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, it was a great speech and it was awesome to be able to see the President of the US, in the Česká Republika, in person. Unfortunately they had these annoying gray things in front of the podium and the angle I was at was horrible taking pictures, but it was good nonetheless.
